Home: Some pets never have one to call their own. We’d like to help change that by introducing you to an adoptable pet every week. Today, in honor of Adopt a Shelter Cat month, meet The Fox and Bunny, a bonded pair of kitties available through the CATS Cradle Shelter of Fargo, North Dakota.
These adorable adult kitties are both former strays who have struck up a friendship (romance?) at the shelter.
The Fox, as they call him, was blind in his left eye due to scarring/cataracts when he arrived there, but CATS Cradle helped him get the lens replacement surgery he needed, and now his vision is restored.
“His right eye is a little cloudy but he can see through it,” says a bio for the orange kitty. “Between being rescued, living indoors with plentiful food and attention, and his ‘new’ eyes, The Fox’s future looks much brighter all around.”
The apple of The Fox’s eye is Bunny, a female kitty who was quite skittish and lacked confidence when she came to the shelter. Over time though, she has adjusted to being held on “trusted laps” (in her kitty bed) and she’s also shown her affectionate side.
“She’s even taken naps with one of the volunteers,” says her bio. “She’s spending ever-increasing amounts of time out and about in her room, laying on the big bench or toward the front of the Kuranda tower. She’s making great strides and we couldn’t be prouder of her!”
Because of the sweet relationship these two share — there are lots and lots of cuddles! — the shelter would love to see them get adopted together. If you’re interested in them, contact CATS Cradle at 701-356-7877.
